I initially tested Crowdrender by adding my laptop as a remote node. Since my use case is typically the reverse (desktop as remote), I copied my blend file to my laptop but when I attempted to render, it never completed. After poking around a bit, I discovered that the local node lists my desktop GPUs (two 980s) as well as my laptop (1050 Ti): The issue persists after deleting the Crowdrender directory in my user data folder (all settings were still loaded when I opened the file). This seems to indicate the settings are stored in each .blend file. I propose the following changes: - Enumerate compute devices on file load. - Compare with list of saved compute devices. - If a mismatch is found, -- Revert to the default compute device (CPU). -- Issue a warning notification under "this machine:" saying "WARNING: Compute device change detected! Please select new compute devices." -- After user does so and presses OK, prompt the user to save the file to commit the changes.
Saved local compute device list isn't updated when moving existing .blend file to a new host. content media

I couldn't initially find the render controls, so I tried switching engines and it didn't work): You will find crowdrender says it is rendering and the render buttons will never appear. Instead, leave it as your preferred engine (e.g. Cycles). This is because Crowdrender adds a section under each engine's properties panel and then auto-switches to it's own engine when you press one of the Render buttons (it will switch back when done). If you can't find the Crowdrender section, it's probably at the bottom of Render properties panel. Drag it up with the handles to make it easier to find: If someone could update the documentation to explicitly inform the user to not switch rendering engines, it might help eliminate confusion. :) Thanks!
TIP: don't change your preferred render engine to Crowdrender (the blank render engine)! content media

Hi guys, When I loaded up blender today, crowdrender said it was rendering and the rendering controls refuse to show up. Restarting blender didn't help. I've tried both the startup file and my projects, as well as removing v0.1.6 and installing v0.1.5, and finally deleting the crowdrender data folders, and the problem persists (I did not modify the startup file, so I've no idea what could have gone wrong). Is there anything I should try before I submit a bug report? Screenshot of problem:
