Hi Ryan, this is likely due to the compiled files in our addon being loaded incorrectly into blender which has an incompatible python version.
To fix this, we'd need some more info, I see you're on linux, can you tell me the version of Blender, and also the version of python that is bundled with that version of Blender?
Also, I assume you're using v016 of our addon, but I'd like to confirm that too :)
You can easily find out which version by going to the 'scripting' view. You should then see the version number in the python console part of the blender UI like you can see below I've highlighted where the python version.
Hi Ryan, hope you are well, just wanted to know if you had tried v017 yet. I've looked back through our system and can't find your e-mail, I hope we sent you a set of download links. Can you resend if not? We've progressed to pre-release testing now and the builds are looking pretty good. In particular we worked hard on fixing this issue to ensure support for linux and the varied versions of python that 2.79 daily builds use.
It would be great to verify with you that the problem you have is fixed :)
I just installed the 2.79 version of v017 on my Laptop and Desktop, and rendered a quick animation, and it works great! Both of my computers are using Linux Mint.
Bonjour :) Just wondering, have you tried the troubleshooting section of our documentation? This looks to me like an issue we get a lot, there's a simple fix documented for it. Some windows systems are missing dll's that our software needs, and there is a MS official update you can download.
The documentation contains a link to the official Microsoft website where you can download the update.
I'd highly recommend installing the update and then trying again. Please reply back and let us all know if the problem for you is fixed or not fixed so we can either help further or rest in satisfaction that the addon works for you :)

My operating system is Linux mint 19 cinnamon. The Blender version I'm using is the current stable build, Blender 2.79b.
I don't know what version of python its using. I'm not a programmer, so don't know anything about python. :) How can I figure that out?
The version of Crowd Render I'm using is V0.1.6. I downloaded it just today. Thanks alot!
