Hi, a bit new, going through the online tutorials and documentations. I have three computers, two macs and a windows. I've installed clean Blender and CrowdRender softwares in each and none of the three computers are passing even the render locally test. Where, you just press render and expect the image to render locally. The window pulls up, but it just stays blank with no additional information. I'm also unable to get the three units to network together, but figured up river fixes might fix downriver network problems.
Thanks in advance,
Matt
FWIW, in case anyone else is running into issue like this, when you are networking with a Mac, even if the Firewall is off, you have to go into Sharing under System Preferences and enable most of the checkboxes. I didn't take the time to figure out which one, I just enabled them on and the app started syncing and connecting. Not perfectly, but it was progress.
Now I'm having a trouble because the render buttons are not showing up. So, there is no way to start a render.
Hi Matthew, what version are you on exactly? We did make a change in V0.3.0 that removed the render buttons, otherwise if you're on a previous version to that, selecting cycles or eevee from the render engine drop down menu in Render Properties in blender might help :)
James
Hi, I’m on the 3.0 version and 2.91 blender. How do you render if you took away the buttons?
@Matthew Brutsche Apologies for the button heist, we now allow you to select "Crowdrender" as a normal render engine from the drop down menu in Blender's render properties panel. This means you can render using F12 or the render menu items. Before we used to need buttons because we were essentially switching the render engine to a hidden one to do the rendering, but this had some pretty limiting side effects that hurt compatibility with other addons related to rendering.
There's a 45 second video here that shows how the new UX works, documentation is still a work in progress to update the current docs to reflect the change.
