When no connection is made with any other machine, but you "accidently" hit the "Render Still" button, the whole window for render settings (so the one on the right side of the screen) moves suddenly fully up and disappears from the screen. The "render engine" field on top of the screen is empty (emptied?) and system freezes. When the slider for the render settings window is moved up, then all normal windows are gone:
CR should give a warning or: "No machine connected. Please connect or use default render buttons"
Hi Rene, I think this is part of the same issue. We'll have this fixed pretty soon. Right now I'm working on an update to fix the "cannot create cr directory" issue!
Yes, I can confirm that.
I tried with both BI and Cycles as "starting" engine but do not see any difference in behaviour.
Strange thing is also that the render settings window not always disappears completly. Sometime it is only scrolled completly upwards, but still present. I have tried several scenarios but could not find any patern or logic when it appears and when not.
The render engine entry disappears always. That is (at least) consistent :-)
Hi Rene, not a problem, I might not remove it just yet, can you confirm for me that you can recover from this by selecting another engine?
Yes, this looks like the same issue.
You can remove this post if you want.
Hi Rene, my first thought is that this looks a lot like an existing bug in the forum, CR-153. Can you verify if you think the description of CR-153 matches what you are seeing?
Also, do the panels come back if you try selecting cycles or blender_internal?
